To contextualize you within some of my
thought process, I have grown goals to project inclusivity into our built environments and systems. Too often progress is the result of large 'development', manufacturing, and grandiose institutional operations serving their own
benefits unapologetically. It has long come
time to unapologetically rebel.
…
I do not believe in
authoritarian authorship of architecture.
I do not believe the glories of our built environment should serve small cause.
I believe the icon should be a
memory not publicity:
an idea, not an artifact.
I believe architecture is for
we the people, not we the architects.
I believe we work
under not over mother nature.
...
Having much experience in the service industry,
I continue to ask questions like,
why is there rarely natural light for staffs
that occupy a building more consistently
than anyone else?
Can I get my chef a window?
Can I get my manager a non-closet office?
Can I get the maids a sunny lunch spot?
Can I do so without losing experiential
quality for the temporal guest?
...
People should not be at the service of spaces.
Spaces should be at the service of people.
...
The greatest good for the greatest number is always the winning business model.
We fight to prove the value of making tables bigger and fences smaller.
In a world of increasing complexity,
Let's create solutions.
